The Need

• Kids spend 80% of their time out of school.
• Unsupervised time is the main source of problems with kids.

• More likely to fail school
• More likely to be under/unemployed
• More likely to get involved in drugs
• More likely to become pregnant
• More likely to be a victim of violence

• Unsupervised time means no protection from the “Vicious Cycle” of negativity kids face in every area of life.

• Bullying and Violence
• Irresponsible sexual activity
• Passivity and Non-critical thinking of the media driven consumer mentality
• Hopelessness and Despair
• Lack of Meaning and Purpose to direct their talents

• These factors combine to leave many children unprepared for the real challenges of life and contribute to poor academic performance, under-employment and limited ability to participate in society as well rounded citizens.

How do we reach these kids?  How do we create a “Virtuous Cycle” of resilient strengths to counteract this Vicious Cycle?
