Reach UP! Haiti

We have all been moved by the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Once the crisis phase ends, the long and difficult task of rebuilding will begin. What the people of Haiti will need most to survive and even thrive in the long run is the strengthening of their local capacity to rebuild.

The Unity Project is unrivaled in building local capacity to respond with resilient strength in times of crisis. We begin with our local Haitian partners in a network called, Reach UP! Haiti. Our service model will address immediate needs identified by local Haitian youth and will be augmented by our Transformation Process to help young people learn the skills they need to strengthen their communities and create a vision of hope for the future.

The Unity Project methods were developed from years of experience working in dire situations in Bosnia, New York City after 9/11, and New Orleans and Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, and further refined at Harvard University.

Please give generously not only to lessen suffering in this time of crisis, but to help Haiti grow to become a role model of resilient strength.

What We Do

rainbow
The Unity Project is a Resilience Learning System that partners with after school programs for middle and high school students.  Through our unique hands-on learning system we empower youth to transform challenges into opportunities for personal growth and united action.   Using a series of fun and interactive steps that build positive decision making skills, the Unity Project helps students improve situations they identify as important to them in their everyday lives.  By being engaged in changing their world for the better, students build motivation and powerful leadership skills that are necessary for success at home, school, work and in their communities.
